"Isn't it a sort of passing strangeness," one said to another, "a sort of understood oddness, that when we love someone so much, we tear a bit of ourselves.  And it's never hemmed or fixed.  Like that mood ring I left swimming in the drain of the shower for weeks, now stained a permanent and beautiful ocean blue feeling."

"What?" said the another to the one.

"But that's not quite right, there's no sorrow in the breaking.  It's just a passing strangeness, that's all."

"I met a boy, a great, gorgeous dude, a funny, cool-ass guy…He is the kind of guy who carries himself like he gets laid a lot, a guy who likes women, a guy who would actually fuck me properly. I would like to be fucked properly!” – Gillian Flynn, Gone Girl

What does this mean?

That, my friend, is exactly the question you have to ask.

It means that this is one of the best ways to pile up rocks and not have them fall down for a long time.

You kids with your smooth animation that’s consistent and not constantly recycled.

Back in my day you ignored when someone’s mouth didn’t move when they were talking or when a Ninja Turtle had the wrong color face mask.

Back in my day Green Lantern had THREE arms and THAT’S HOW WE LIKED IT

I stayed home from work to do some major room cleaning and saw a huge little spot in my closet filled with all these VHS tapes.  I feel such a sentimental attachment but they’re taking up space and haven’t been watched in years (and can be found online/on dvd now).  I feel like I should finally get rid of them (I’ll keep the cover jackets for sentiment), but it still feels wrong to just throw them out.  I’m having a dilemma.  I need the space and I’m trying to get rid of stuff in my room to minimize on clutter, which is a huge problem in this house. But… the memories =/ Oy.
